Jackson Family Wines is a large part of the American domestic wine world with many of their Kendall-Jackson varietals top sellers the world over. In addition to the world-acclaimed Kendall-Jackson, the family also owns Cambria Estates in addition to many other vineyards both in the United States and countries throughout the world. Julia Jackson, the middle daughter of famed winemaker Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke, has taken an active role in the family business. In addition to her role as spokesperson for the Jackson Family Wines company, Julia has her own charitable foundation and is championing the Cabernet grape in Sonoma.
After growing up in the vineyards of her family’s wine business, Julia went on to Scripps College to study studio arts. She soon returned to the family fold, and her main occupation is that of spokesperson for Jackson Family Wines. Her charity, Cambria Seeds of Empowerment works with women all over the world to help empower them in their professional lives. Julia is a strong believer in giving back, as is her entire family.
Sonoma often takes second billing to Napa, but it respected as a quality wine region in its own right. The latest wine to gain positive attention is the Cabernet that Julia has been helping to spread the word, Vérité La Joie. This Cabernet intensive wine is created in the Bourdeaux style and has been receiving many accolades. Julia believes that in addition to the Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, the Cabernet varietal is a great grape for the region.
The Jackson Family Wines company continues to grow in both California and elsewhere, and Julia is proud to be a part of the new generation that is leading the charge. The company continues to innovate and explore new grapes and varietals and lead the wine industry growth.
